Thule Roof Rack for 2023 Honda Pilot to Carry Hullavator Assisted Kayak Carrier

Question:

Im going to install a Thule evo roof rack on my 2023 Honda pilot. i dont see that model listed on your site so I ed the 2022 model instead figuring they sb the same. Your website recommends 53 inch cross bars for my car. Ihave that size from my last car which was a Audi q-5. The cross bars need to be wide enough to accommodate a Thule Hullivator Pro kayak rack which requires enough clearance for the hullivator arms to extend downward without coming in contact with the side of the car. Im thinking that I might be safer with 60 inch crossbars to ensure proper clearance for the Hullivator arms. What are your thoughts and recommendations for my particular car?

The roof rack fits from a 2022 Honda Pilot are the same as for a 2023 Honda Pilot so you could use the 53 inch WingBar Evo rack part numbers # TH711400, # TH460R, # THKIT3132 that you mentioned. Which when we installed this on a similar Honda Pilot as yours with raised rails we found there was enough overhang for the bars to allow the fit of a Thule Hullavator part # TH898.

If for some reason you had the naked roof version of your vehicle you could instead use the 60 inch bar rack part numbers # TH711520, # TH710501, # TH79RV.

Since the mounting slot on the bottom of the Thule bars does not run the entire length of the bar you can't use longer bars than recommended in most situations.
