Can etrailer Hitch Install on 2022 Grand Design Imagine XLS 23 LDE to Carry E-Bike Rack

Question:

I have a 2022 grand design imagine XLS 23 LDE travel trailer. I want to mount the Swagman e-bike rack #S94FR. I want to haul one or two street bikes not e-bikes! If I use this bolt on receiver Mount do I need to shore up the bumper? I saw on YouTube where the welds would break on the bumper or the bumper would collapse with the weight of their bikes on this type of a bolt on receiver hitch.

The street bikes you want to carry with the Swagman e-bike rack # S94FR would need to weigh less than 70 lbs for the rack to have the needed capacity. So assuming your bikes weighed each 70 lb plus the weight of the carrier which is 60 lb this would put you at 200 lbs total which is less than the tongue weight capacity of the etrailer RV bumper hitch part # e38HR which is rated for 350 lb tongue weight.

So the hitch itself would be strong enough but what I can't answer is if your bumper is also strong enough. It might have a tongue weight capacity that is adequate but you would have to check with Grand Design. It probably would be a good idea to reinforce the bumper.
