Why Are Line Pull and Trailer Weight Ratings Different for 2017 Ram 3500 Front Mount EcoHitch

How can this front hitch have a line pull rating of 7500lbs and a gross trailer rating of 10000lbs Its one or the other.

I completely understand and agree with your logic here, but according to EcoHitch the Hidden Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7900 for your 2017 Ram 3500 has a 750 lb tongue weight, 7,500 lb line pull rating, and a 10,000 lb gross trailer weight rating.
What I read that as is a winch situation can handle 7,500 lbs but when the weight of the truck is behind the movement it can handle 10,000 lbs. That still means the tongue weight can't be over 750 lbs though so you'll have to be mindful of that if you use this hitch to maneuver a trailer around.
