Torque For Curt QuickPin No-Latch Coupler

Question:
I just installed this coupler on my trailer with 2 grade 5 half inch bolts. I torqued them to 100ft pounds. Is that too much? Will that cause a problem?

Thank you for your purchase from etrailer of the Curt QuickPin No-Latch Trailer Coupler for 2" Ball - 3" Channel - 3,500 lbs # C54UR.
The 100 ft lbs is too much, as the directions specify to torque the bolts to 55 ft lbs. When you over torque a bolt there is a chance that it could sever and break so you'll want to re-install the # C54UR with the correct torque.
