Parts Needed to Add 7-Way and Brake Controller to 2023 Ford Maverick
Updated 07/25/2024 | Published 02/28/2023 >
Question:
I have a 2023 Ford Maverick Hybrid with an OEM 4-pin trailer plug. Id like to upgrade this setup. In the end, I would like a 7-pin trailer connector that will charge the onboard trailer battery as I drive. Additionally, Id like to have a non-wifi/non-bluetooth brake controller. And, if etrailer carries electric trailer brakes, Id like a recommendation for trailer brakes that work with the aforementioned brake controller. The trailer is a 2008 Silver Shadow travel trailer weighing 1050#, Thanks!

The easiest solution would be to start with the 7-way kit part # TK95VR which gives you a fully functional 7-way ready for a brake controller install for your 2023 Ford Maverick Then for a brake controller the P2 part # 90885 would plug right into the brake controller install port this comes with.
We do carry parts to add brakes to your trailer but I would need more info to determine what you'd need like the axle capacity and the wheel bolt pattern. I attached a help article that will walk you through the entire process of adding brakes to your trailer as well.

So just to make sure this product adds the seven way blade not just replace OEM also does it supply power to the running lights of the trailer?
