The remote works perfectly as we were missing ours. It didn't require any type of pairing which was a bonus and it now enables us to use the fireplace for heat as the manual button on the fireplace itself wasn't working but the remote now makes it work.

It took 20 days for the remote to arrive. I gave this item 2 stars because I received the remote WITHOUT a battery. The plastic pull tab to connect the battery was there (that means that a battery was shipped from the factory). I had to drive 1+ hours to get a battery for it since it was removed at the store. The remote worked great AFTER I put a battery in.
