Hello, I have a 2022 Tesla Model 3 Long Range and looking to install a trailer hitch mainly for putting a bike rack. I see there are a few options for trailer hitch. There’s Stealth, EcoHitch and basic/regular hitch. Id like to know the differences and find out what’s best for my needs and budget. Thank you.

I would be happy to help you. There are three levels of hitches available for the 2022 Tesla Model 3. The Stealth hitch is by far the most premium option and it comes in two configurations.

The Stealth Hitches Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver w/ Towing Kit item # 391TES317T comes with everything you need to tow a trailer or haul accessories like a bike rack or cargo carrier. The best part of the Stealth Hitch is that the receivers are completely removable which gives your Tesla a factory look. This hitch also offers the highest towing capacity of the available options with a 3,000 lbs towing capacity and a 350 lbs. It is made in the USA and weighs 67 lbs.

If you don't need to tow and still like the features the Stealth Hitch offers, then you will want item # 391TES317. This is the same part but without the wiring kit and ball mount for towing. It would be used exclusively for accessories.

The EcoHitch Stealth Trailer Hitch Receiver item # EH84GR is the mid range option. It offers the same removable 2" receiver but it is closer in style to a standard hitch. It does not include a wiring harness or a ball mount kit. This hitch has a 2,000 lbs towing capacity and 300 lbs tongue weight. This hitch is also made in the USA and weighs 45 lbs.

The etrailer Trailer Hitch item # e33ZR is our base model hitch and the most economical choice. It does not have a removable receiver so your Tesla's appearance and ground clearance will change regardless of whether or not you are using this hitch. Hey there, I am most concerned about wobbling of a bike rack. This can frequently occur on hitches that get loose over time. Is the stealth rack interface 100% solid, I would be super disappointed if I bought the rack and it was wobbly at this junction, I have the ability to make sure the normal hitch junction with the bike rack is tight.
