Does EcoHitch that Fits 2015 Volkswagen Jetta TDI Have Capacity for Dirt Bike Carrier

Question:

Hi I was curious could I use this with a 2015 Jetta tdi and put a dirtbike and carrier on back or is that to heavy? bike plus carrier is around 250 pounds however i know that weight distance from hitch affects this. Thanks,

The EcoHitch part # 306-X7311 has a tongue weight capacity of 300 lbs so it would by itself would have capacity for a 250 lb dirt bike, but you have to also consider the capacities of your 2015 Volkswagen Jetta TDI to make sure it also has the same the capacity. The hitches are rated independently of the vehicles so that is why this hitch may have more capacity than your vehicle. Online I was able to find a capacity of 2,000 lbs trailer weight and 200 lb tongue weight but I would also check your owners manual or with a VW dealer.
