Mounting Plate Available For a Pintle Hook Which Can Be Used In The Rise Position

The 2022 Curt Catalog specifically states that Curt Pintle Mounts are for use in drop position only. Page 127 Second Bullet. Why? Other manufacturers lists rise applications for the equivalent part. Please advise.

The Curt Pintle Hook Mounting Plate # C48341 was only designed and engineered by Curt to be used in the drop position. I recommend using the Convert-A-Ball Cushioned, Adjustable Pintle Mounting Bar # AMPC3 if you need a mounting plate for use in the rise position. This mount has a cushion built into the hitch to help reduce shock transferred from the trailer to your tow vehicle.
