What Precautions Must Be Used With Air Lift Ride Control Air Helper Springs # AL59533 Using a Lift?
Published 11/02/2022 >
Question:
Will there be damage to the air bag suspension if a garage uses a frame lift to lift the truck? Will they potentially separate from themselves?

Expert Reply:
According to Air Lift if you are only raising the vehicle off the ground for a short amount of time the Air Lift Ride Control Air Helper Springs # AL59533 should be reduced to 5psi to reduce tension on the air springs. If the vehicle will be raised by the frame for a long period of time jacks or straps should be used on the axle to prevent damage to the air springs. If not supported over a long period of time the air springs could become damaged.
