The only thing I can recommend is a new carrier like the Thule Force XT L Rooftop Cargo Box # TH6357B as the hinges for your Thule Summit are no longer available. Since your cargo box ended production in 2001 there are only a few parts still available and those are mostly the mounting hardware. This box uses their new Quick-Grip clamps allowing you to quickly and easily install the new carrier on your roof rack.
