Adding Bearing Buddies to Malone MicroSport With Zerk Fittings on Spindle
Updated 10/10/2022 | Published 10/09/2022 >
Question:
I’d like to add bearing buddies to my Malone microsport because I like to see that I’ve got enough grease reserve, but my trailer has zerk fittings under the cap. Do I simply remove those or do I need to replace the bearings entirely? I really don’t mind replacing, just want to be sure I have all parts on hand before I start tearing it apart.

If you want to use the # BB1980A you will have to remove the zerk fitting. These can typically be removed with a pair of pliers. Also, the bearings do not need to be replaced. It looks like the # BB1980A is the correct fit for your Malone MicroSport, but I would verify that you have a 1.980" hub bore first just to be sure.
