Question:

Hi, For this trailer, how can I ensure it is theft proof when I park it in a park? Does it have any locking mechanism? Thanks

The trailer doesn't include locks, which is typical, as trailers don't usually include them.

The good news is that there are tons of locking options available, and usually using more than one locking option at a time will deter all but the most determined thief.

The Malone MicroSport # MPG462G2 trailer uses a typical 2 inch channel tongue coupler. At a minimum, I'd use a coupler latch lock like part # e98890. I even use these while towing, to prevent the latch from coming open or some vandal unlatching it while I stop somewhere. A universal coupler lock like # FA86-0015-316 would also be a good choice. Even a simple cable lock like # 8122D ran through one of the wheels and around the frame member would prevent the trailer from going anywhere.

Using the layered approach with more than one lock will certainly provide lots of deterrence. Your typical thief is pretty lazy. If they see locks, they'll usually move on to an easier target.

I've linked to demonstration videos for the locks mentioned above
