Replacement Leaf Springs for 1999 ProCraft Boat Trailer With 3,750 Pound Axle
Published 10/04/2022 >
Question:
My leaf springs measured 26 1/2 eye to eye on my 1999 procraft boat trailer. They are single leaf. The gvwr and gawr are 3750 lbs and it says the maximum capacity is 2900 lbs. can you give me a recommendation for new leaf springs? Thanks.

Thank you for providing that helpful information. Based on your measurement and the 3,750 lb axle rating I recommend the 4-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 4,000-lb Trailer Axles - 26" Long # e22YR. These leaf springs are slightly shorter but that won't be an issue. Leaf springs will become longer as they wear out, so a replacement will be shorter than your current measurement.
It is worth noting that leaf count doesn't matter. This is a 4-leaf spring but the important factor is the weight capacity. A single leaf, 3- leaf, 4-leaf, etc. could all have the same spring capacity. Also, even though you will have leaf springs with a combined 4,000 lb capacity you will still be limited by your axle or the weakest component of your trailer.
