What is Needed To Help a 2018 Toyota Land Cruiser Tow a Heavy Trailer

I own a 2018 Toyota Landcruiser with a factory receiver hitch and an 8,100 max trailer weight rating. We are looking at an Airstream Flying Cloud 25FB trailer with a 837 pound hitch weight and a weight of 5,973 base, 7,300 max weight. I would be using a weight distributing hitch. I have seen various answers on this combination. I know the weights seem to be fine the real question is we travel a lot in Wyoming and often fight cross winds on I-80. Is this trailer going to be too much to really manage? We have driven a number of different C, B+ and B class RVs and all have their issues particularly with the winds. The Airstream seems a much better profile for this but not sure about the length behind the Cruiser. Any input you can offer is greatly appreciated. If any of your readers have actually tried this combination that would be great to discuss.

It looks like you're after some first hand experience with someone towing a heavy trailer with their 2018 Toyota Land Cruiser and although we would love to be able to help, that's just not really what we can offer. Instead, I suggest reaching out to some forums or social media groups of other owner so they can let you know their experiences. If you do end up deciding this is a good combo for you we have everything you need to make sure you're setup for success starting with suspension enhancements which will help transition the weight from the rear of the vehicle to the front, I recommend the Stability Plus Stabilizer Helper Springs part # SPS97FR which will also do a great job of helping reduce sway during heavy winds. This can then be combined with a weight distribution system of your choosing and will be a great combo once done so.
Please note, you will need a trailer brake controller if you don't already have one and for this I recommend the Curt Echo Wireless Trailer Brake Controller part # C51180.
