Question:
I have a Reese 5th wheel 30148 and a Reese Sidewinder. Instead of using grease on the 5th wheel can I use a lube plate instead. I thought I was told when I bought the Sidewinder several years ago that a lube plate could not be used with a Sidewinder. Thanks

Expert Reply:
A lube plate should not be used with a Sidewinder # RP77FR.
The # RP77FR does not rotate in the hitch head but instead at the turret, so a lube plate would not have a purpose, and as such were not designed to be used with Sidewinders. You'll just need to grease the surface on both sides of the Sidewinder wedge, around its kingpin, and the skid plate surface, with LubriMatic Lithium Grease # L11315.
