Question:

I have a 2018 Ram 3500 SRW, 4 door, 4 wd, Cummins. I am looking for a hitch for 2 functions. 1. Lowering my motorcycle carrier so that I can carry a combined carrier+motorycle weight of approximately 550 lbs of my 2.5 inch hitch. 2. Flat tow my Jeep. Im confident that can flat tow. Should I be concerned using this with a motorcycle hitch carrier? My interest in this particular unit is that the hitch itself lowers or raises vs. other hitch models that have a slot or mechanism, but leaves a lower hanging shank even when using higher positions.

Hey John! The Patriot Hitches 2" Adjustable Drop Hitch Adapter # PH38PR (Silver Accent) or # PH67SR (Black) will be able to work for both. It is capable of handling flat towing and, since it doesn't reduce the capacity of your hitch like other adapters, it can handle the weight of your motorcycle and carrier.

I ride a Tenere 700. I live in California so my plan is to take the bike with me camping throughout the state and as far east as Colorado.

@John sounds like a good time! To answer your other question, the only difference is the color of the pins. Blue and red are also available but they are the same as the black # PH67SR. I'm guessing you don't care so the silver # PH38PR will save you some money.

What’s the difference between these two one is $30 less than the other but they both seem to have the same specs?
