Will CIPA Custom Slip-On Passenger Side Towing Mirror # CM11302 Fit Chrome Mirrors on 2012 Tundra

Updated 11/20/2013 | Published 11/18/2013

Question:

Will these fit over the Tundra stock chrome mirrors or just the Tundra black plastic mirrors? One review stated they scratched the back of the stock mirrors. Is damage to be expected since I would be putting on and off?

CIPA Towing mirror # CM11302 will fit the stock passenger-side mirror that measure 6-inches tall x 9-inches wide (but will not fit OEM extendable towing mirrors). Please refer to the attached photo; this is the mirror style that will work with these CIPA towing mirrors. We also offer a matching driver-side unit, part # CM11301. These CIPA mirrors do come with a protective strip to help prevent damage to the OEM mirror housing.

My contact at CIPA informed me that if the chrome mirror back is an overlay (or cap) affixed to the forward-facing side of the mirror, meaning that it was simply an add-on to the mirror housing and the mirror was not manufactured with the chrome finish, then the added thickness of the overlay will prevent the # CM11302 from fitting.

If this is the case you can use a universal-fit towing mirror such as K-Source # KS3891. This is sold as a single unit so two will be needed to equip both mirrors on your Tundra. I have linked a video to illustrate this
product.
