Best Front Mount Hitch For 2020 Chevy Silverado 2500 For Carrying Bike Rack

Question:
Would this be a good choice for carrying a bike rack? I pull a small 5th wheel with my 2020 Silverado 2500 so I cant carry it on the rear of the truck. Id looked into installing a hitch on the back of the 5th wheel, but I dismissed the idea because Ive heard that bike racks usually dont work well on towed trailers because of all the bouncing. Do you have a bike rack to recommend for my two relatively light 30 lb mountain bikes?

Excellent question, and you're right that bike racks experience tremendous bounce at the rear of a trailer, and it would require a specially-rated bike rack (of which there are few), so a front-mount hitch on your 2020 Chevy Silverado 2500 is a great idea, with the best hitch being the EcoHitch you asked about due to it having the best ground clearance. The correct part number for your truck is the following:
- EcoHitch Hidden Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver # EH57FR
For a bike rack, the best one depends on how much you plan on using the rack. For just occasional use, go with a basic option, the Swagman XC2 Bike Rack # S64650.
It will get the job done but not add much else and you'd have to add locks to it, the Anti-Rattle Hitch Lock and Cable # S64031. For more regular use I highly recommend going with a simple to use, more well-built option, the Yakima RidgeBack 2-Bike Rack # Y02457.
This is a light (32 lb) rack that does not require tools to install like other racks; you just twist a knob at the base of the rack and you're set. It also comes fully assembled so there's nothing to put together, and comes with a lock for the rack. If you want to lock your bikes to the rack you can do so by adding the Cable Lock # Y02466.
