Question:
2017 GMC ACADIA not limited. Question as to which vehicle studs to remove for the heat shield. It would make since to remove the studs where the mounting location was trimmed off the heat shield back middle on both shields, but is seems that to install the hitch you need to remove the ones nearest the bumper near the center of the vehicle line. Which ones are the right ones to remove?

When installing the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e36AR you will remove one heat shield stud on each side after reinstalling the heat shields. The stud you will be removing is the one near the exhaust hanger where you removed the two bolts to lower the exhaust. See the attached picture.
The installation process is the same as the # C13293. I have attached the instructions for the Curt hitch along with an installation video you can check out. If you jump to the 4 minute mark you will see the stud being removed.
