Question:
I recently received an expert recommendation to use the Blue Ox TrackPro Weight Distribution w/ Sway Control item # BLU47FR for towing a boat, motor and trailer at 5000 lbs with a Tacoma. For the single pole tongue, it was recommended using the Blue Ox Pole Tongue Weight Distributing Hitch Adapter Item # BXW4023 Does not look to me that combination will work it looks like that adapter is for the clamp on blue ox weight distribution hitches. It does look like the Reese heavy duty pole tongue adapter would work. From their web site: Fits all weight distributing lift units regardless of manufacturer. Thoughts?

I spoke with my rep at Blue Ox and checked Reese's website both the Chain Hangers you mentioned item # BXW4023 and the Reese item # RP58393 only work with chain hanging type weight distribution systems. Since you were looking at the Blue Ox 2-Point Weight Distribution w/ Sway Control item # BLU47FR which has an 600 lbs - 800 lbs tongue weight range, I recommend the Blue Ox SwayPro Weight Distribution w/ Sway Control item # BXW0756. This system will be better suited for you boat trailer. The chain hangers are easily removable compared to L brackets. You will also have no issues backing up or launching your boat. This system has a tongue weight range of 550 lbs - 750 lbs.
I also recommend the Classic Accessories Tow Bar and Weight Distribution Tote item # CA80113. This heavy duty bag is perfect for storing your weight distributing hitch. It is 36" x 11" Wide x 8" Tall and has padding that prevents damage to your hitch and prevents dings to your vehicle's cargo area from shifting gear.
