2021 ram 2500 29 inches to sides ,36 inches to tailgate which should i turn the box , forward or back ? Thanks

I went ahead and checked out the instruction manual for your Andersen Ultimate Connection 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch System with Adapter # AM3200, and in order to determine the correct orientation you're going to need to take one more measurement to determine the orientation.

Along with the side and tailgate measurement to the center of the 5th wheel ball, you're also going to need to measure, with the king pin adapter installed and in the forward position, from the center of the adapters ball socket to the rear of the trailers pin box.

This measurement should be shorter than the two measurements you already took. If it's not shorter then you'll want to install this forwards; if it is longer than the two measurements, then you'll need to install this backwards.
