Recommended Trailer Hitch For A 2018 Volkswagen Atlas

Question:

I saw https://www.etrailer.com/question-290417.html which matches my understanding that for a V6 Volkswagen Atlas to tow 5000lbs, it should have transmission cooler installed, or else go with 2000lbs. The question then is: do you recommend a transmission cooler that I can purchase and have some local mechanic install, that way I can go tow up to 5000lbs? Thank you.

When installing a trailer hitch on your 2018 Volkswagen Atlas The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2 inch # C13366 is confirmed to fit your vehicle.

The trailer hitch has a bolt-on installation with no welding required. It has a maximum gross trailer weight of 6,000 pounds and has a maximum tongue weight up to 900 pounds. I would double check your manual to see what the proper towing capacity is for your vehicle. You would have to get with Volkswagen to see what cooler they would recommend because we currently do not have a cooler available for your vehicle.
