Im looking at B2500 winches for my boat lift. There are several size drums. Which would be best and easiest for lifting a 1700lb load? It is a cantilever style lift. I need one that can handle the load and be easy to crank up. Also, I need one that can be used with a big boat lift wheel.

You can use a Dutton-Lainson hand winch for your boat lift, and the easiest one for lifting a 1,700 lb load will have an automatic brake, and a smaller reel hub diameter. A smaller diameter means a shorter cable, but quicker pulling speed.
And while you mentioned the B-Series of winch, you may need a DLB-Series, and the reason I say that is because the right one for a boat lift wheel will depend on the internal thread in the center hub of the wheel. The B-Series will work with a boat wheel lift with 7/8”-9 internal thread in the center hub, and the DLB-Series works with boat wheel lifts with a 5/8”-11 internal thread in the center hub:
- DLB-Series: Dutton-Lainson Hand Winch with Automatic Brake # DL15721
- B-Series: Dutton-Lainson Hand Winch with Automatic Brake # DL15850
Then for a cable the correct one is the Hand Winch Cable # DL24102.
