I have used this D-I winch to raise and lower a 10 x 10 ft platform in my workshop.
My RC airplanes are stored on it and are hoisted to the ceiling, to make room for more...

Quick delivery and received what was or dered
This is a very well built and solid winch. It is exactly what I was looking for in my application. I put it on a log arch I had welded together to lift some pretty heavy logs, and it does so with ease. The hand brake comes in very handy, and works amazingly well.
Excellent. High quality. I use it to crank up my ham radio tower.
I have a sailboat that I replaced the winch I use to raise and lower the 700lb swing keel. I bought this winch hoping the upgrade in lifting capacity would help. It makes a huge difference. I have to be honest, it has been so nice to use. My old winch had a little lever on it to choose the direction it would go if crancked. This new winch goes up when cranked one way and down when cranked the other. I don't have to take time to set the direction lever. The best part is when I"m lowering the keel, I just have to stop cranking and the automatic breake takes it and holds it where ever I stop. I sail up around the San Juan islands where the tide fluctuates 15 feet or more and its important that I can react quickly when I need too so I gave 5 stars.
Solid product! Used it on my boat lift, threads and set up for the brake to work with my wheel was a challenge because the threads on my wheel are 7/8ths, threads on the shaft of winch are 5/8ths and an off set so the brake works with the handle it comes with. That being said, I fabricated up some parts and it works great. Very strong and sturdy and the cable I bought works wonderfully. Shipping was very fast and packaged good. 2nd time I have bought something through this company and I will do it again in a second if and when the need arrives. Great company, great customer based service. Thank you for your great service, other companies need to follow your model. If they do, they will be extremely successful!
The order and shipment was very timely which was nice. There was not nearly enough info about the product on website, size, dimensions, etc. when package was delivered after hours at an unattended site the box was torn open on one end and pars appeared to be missing….
I’ve already gone to a [online] store and bought a better winch. I’ll put the one from y’all in my junk bin….

Winches are great just took a long time to get
My review- is based on the fact that I am a 25+ year maintenance engineer, that I had replaced my Fulton brake winch with a different manufacturer. I had great concerns due to the fact that all I could use was the Dutton-Lainson info. the company provided and we all know that sometimes that is not what we end up with. Well after ordering then receiving the product in just a few days, We then installed and found out that it worked better then what was perviously installed. I am more then just pleased- more then 100% pleased! Great Product, Great Price, Great Delivery Time- no run around! Wow! - Please keep up the good work- America needs more companies like you. You are setting a high Bench Mark for others to follow. Thank You!
Received my DL15721 winch VERY, VERY! fast.
I installed it on my U.S.TOWER TX-455 crank-up antenna tower. The lower attachement bolt holes where 1/16 inch too close together, but had little trouble making them work. Winch works well lifting my tri- bander and 2 meter Amateur antennas.
Only trouble, was attaching the cable to the drum as instructed ,The cable keeper is small-----or maybe my cabel is large but I got the issue taken care of. Anyway, the winch works extremely well as a replacement for the old K1550 winch , and is much easier to operate.

Didnt get the brake winch i ordered, but etrailer found a replacement that i think will work and they shipped it out right away.
Better build quality than the two other brands I have used. Dutton-Lainson seems to be a good brand. eTrailer shipped the package on time at a good price.
UPS lost one of my packages & etrailer.com was able to ship me another item, without any problem, so there wouldn't be any further delay.
Thank you etrailer for making my shopping experience the easiest I've had in a while.

The winch arrived at my door very quickly. I installed the winch on one of my boat lifts. It installed with no trouble. The winch raises and lowers the lift with ease.
The cable retainer on the drum that was supplied was a joke. We had to make a new retainer with stronger bolt to attach the cable. About an hours work.
Customer representative was very helpful in helping us find what we were looking for; we had to do some cross references and it was shipped to us a lot sooner than we expected. We did not pay for any type of expedited service and it was at my door in two days. Product is good. Everything went great. Thanks
Great winch, fast shipping
Excellent winch, easily mounted, only drawback is that it is very slow due to the gearing. Lifts 2500 lbs with ease.
