Which Dutton Lainson Winches Does the Dutton Lainson Winch Socket Work With

Question:

The handle on my camper says it is a DL 204358C. I am uncertain about the wench. I was wondering if the socket adapter would work. I am also uncertain of the age of the wench. The pop up camper is a 1999 viking 2460 pop up.

As long as your winch is a Dutton Lainson B series winch, you can use the # DL6456 socket on it. The socket fits in 1/2" drill and measures 13/16" x 13/16" (outside). The number that you mentioned is just a number used to identify the warning label on Dutton-Lainson brake winches. The actual winch model number is stamped into the base of the winch on the side opposite the handle. I've attached a couple photos pointing this out.
