Can this me mounted in either direction? That is horizontally or vertically?

The 2-Wire RV Propane Gas and Carbon Monoxide Detector # RS44FR can be mounted vertically if needed but most importantly should be installed no more than 18" from the floor so that it can accurately detect the amount of gas in your RV.

Do not mount this detector within 12" of any opening windows, exterior doors, fans, vents, or areas with a draft. To continue, do not mount on exterior walls, within 24" of any cooking appliances, behind furniture or any areas that would block flow to the alarm, and on a wall controlled by a power line or to a circuit breaker.
