Set up of the Tekonsha Primus IQ, # TK90160, is very easy and straight forward. What you will do is connect to the trailer and tow it to a open, flat surface. Start by adjusting the power output to the midpoint on the controller and make sure the boost is off.. Tow the trailer at about 20 miles per hour and then fully apply the manual override.
If the trailer brakes lock up then adjust the power down. If they do not lock up adjust the power higher. You well need to repeat the test until you get the setting just right to where the brakes are just under lock up.
I have included a link to the installation instructions that covers the set up procedure for you.
