Question:
Hi- I have a wilco off road hitch gate solo it holds my spare tire. I was hoping to attach another swing arm onto that and then bike carrier on to the swing arm for new ebikes. Will this set up work or is that too many different connections? our bikes are 70 pounds each. Hitch on vehicle is IV so I dont see problem there but I wasnt sure with so many connections if that would be a problem? Looking at the Hollywood Rack that can carry 2 80 pounds bikes with the Kuat swing hitch attached to my wilco hitch gate.

The Hollywood Racks RV Rider # HLY64FR or Sport Rider SE # HLY84FR will work great with the Kuat Pivot 2 Swing Away Hitch Extender # PVP20B but I definitely don't recommend using this combo with your Wilco Offroad spare tire carrier. Whenever you add an extension it will cut the weight capacity of your trailer hitch in half so you'd probably be pushing the limits of your hitch but more importantly you're going to have over 200 lbs sitting that far out from your hitch receiver which will put a lot of stress on everything involved.
We have alternatives for you though depending on what kind of setup you're looking for. For example, you could put the spare tire on the roof so your nice bikes aren't taking the full-force of the highway. To put it on the roof would mean we need a roof rack, cargo basket/tray, and a spare tire holder. Let me know if you're interested in the roof mount option and I'll help you get the parts you need.
