Question:
Looks like I must wire it in myself on the older rig, but want to get the right unit. What say you? 1993 monaco dynasty on Roadmaster. Cummins isc8.3, allison md 3060 pulling 7x14 enclosed double axle brake trailer.

It would indeed be a complete hardwire installation to install a trailer brake controller on an old Monaco motorhome. The first thing to start with is the controller and for this I recommend the Tekonsha Primus IQ Trailer Brake Controller part # TK90160. Then you can move onto the wiring, the Universal Wiring Harness part # 22551 would have everything you need though you mostly likely will need to extend some of the wires but that's about it. Just add the Mounting Bracket part # PK12711U and you're done.
