Dometic water heaters like the Dometic RV Water Heater # AT96121, which is no longer available, do not have anode rods.
If your water heater is giving off a bad odor, I recommend sanitizing your entire system including your fresh water tank.
What you can do is pour some bleach in you fresh water tank at a ratio of 1/4 cup of bleach to every 15 gallons of water. Then run it trough all your faucets until you smell the bleach. You'll want to also fill your water heater with this solution.
Let it sit for a few hours then dump and flush the system.
If you don't want to use bleach, you could also use distilled vinegar. This should take care of the issue you're experiencing.
