Question:
Looking for a hitch for my 2008 Chevrolet 2500 HD Duramax with a 2.5 . This is what came from the factory on my truck. Looking for a class 5 hitch with a heavy capacity, ~15k capacity with ~1500+ tongue weight capacity. Do you offer this? Your website said the hitch I was looking at would not work if my truck had a factory hitch? Let me know what I need to do. Thanks

The Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver part # DT45517 is a fit for a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD. It has a 2-1/2" opening and can be used to either replace the factory hitch or to simply add one if not equipped although rare. It has a class V rating with 13,000 lb and 1,300 lb capacity, this can be increased to 15,000 lbs and 1,500 lbs when using a weight distribution system. This is the only 2.5" option we offer to replace the factory hitch.
Please note, if the truck is rated lower than the hitch then that is the rating you'll have to abide by.
