Question:

We have ordered a 2022 Jeep Wranger and would really like to use the invisible base plate. Has anyone verified if it can be installed on the 2022? We are planning to use a Blue OX tow bar and the Patriot Breaking system with the easy connect wiring harness. Any other suggestions that we should look into or would this be a good setup?

To flat tow a 2022 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited you need 5 basic components 1) Tow-Bar. 2) Base Plates, that are vehicle specific. 3) Safety Cables. 4) Wiring Solution, something to tie the vehicles indicator lights to the vehicle being towed. 5) Supplemental Braking.

Based on the statement that you want to use a Blue Ox tow bar and a Patriot supplemental braking system, we will start there for recommended parts.

For a base plate that is confirmed to fit the 2022 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited and mate with a Blue Ox tow bar, we have the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit, # BX1139. This fits with factory plastic bumper. The Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit, # RM-521453-5 fits with both the factory plastic bumper and factory steel bumper. The Base Plate Kit, # e98948 that you linked to is not confirmed to fit the 2022 model year.

For a tow bar, you stated you want a blue Ox brand, the Blue Ox Avail Non-Binding Tow Bar, # BX7420 is my recommendation for that. This will mate directly to the the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit, # BX1139. If you select the The Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit, # RM-521453-5 then I suggest the Roadmaster Nighthawk All Terrain, Non-Binding Tow Bar w/ LED Lights, # RM-676. You can also use this tow bar with the Blue Ox base Plates by using adapter, # RM-031-5. There is a lot of great feature for this tow bar such as the larger hookup radius than many models; this ensures simple, secure hookup even if your Jeep is not perfectly aligned with your RV. The arms are extra-long for a better turning radius making it easier to maneuver so that your Jeep will track better. This also comes with the needed safety cables and wiring adapter cord so additional purchase needed for those items.

For a wiring solution, I suggest the Roadmaster Universal Hy-Power Diode Wiring Kit, # RM-154 unless your Jeep is equipped with ParkSense proximity sensors, then select the Roadmaster Wiring Kit with Smart Diodes for Variable Voltage LED Tail Lights, # RM47ZR. The smart diode wiring kit lets you connect your RV's tail, brake, and turn signal lights to your towed car's lighting system so that you'll have the signal lights necessary for flat towing your vehicle.

For supplemental braking, you mentioned the Blue Ox system, we have the Blue Ox Patriot Portable Braking System, # BLU37TR. This is a proportional system that provides precise, responsive braking for your towed vehicle and responds to deceleration of RV to activate towed car's brake pedal with matching intensity.
