How to Install the Roadmaster Nighthawk All Terrain Tow Bar on a 2020 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited

Hi there Jeep owners. Today on your 2020 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Roadmasters Nighthawk Tow Bar.There's five main components you'll need when flat towing your vehicle behind your motor home. You'll need your tow bar, which is the connection between your motor home and your vehicle. Your safety cables, which is a supplemental connection in addition to the tow bar. You'll need your diode wiring, which takes all the lighting signals from your motor home and transfers them to the lights at the back of your vehicles so people behind you will know your intentions when going down the road. You'll need your base plate, which is the connection point on your vehicle for your tow bar and your components to attach to.

And lastly, you need your supplemental braking system, which will apply the brakes in your vehicle when you hit the brakes in your motor home to help you come to a safe stop. The Nighthawks going to be the flagship tow bar from Roadmaster. It has all the bells and whistles, and it definitely shows when you're looking at it. It's got a nice textured black finish on it, and it comes with all the best features. On the arms here we've got nonbinding levers so when you get to your location, you might have some difficult times sometimes getting the ends to disconnect from your base plate, and that's usually due to being in a bind. When you pull up on these levers it will allow the arms to retract back inside, and they're not going to retract back in because you usually have them fully taught, but it puts just a little bit of play in it and that little bit like this allows those pins to slide right out much easier.

This tow bar offers an 8,000 pound towing capacity which is going to be more than enough for our Jeep here. So you don't have to worry about exceeding that capacities ever with this tow bar and your Jeep.Underneath our tow bar we have channels for our safety cables as well as our wiring, which keeps them up off the road, and it also just gives it a nicer appearance. The wiring and safety cables do come with the Nighthawk so it's one less purchase you have to worry about. And down the side of our tow bar there is an LED strip that lights up when you have your lights on in your motor home, and this will help increase your visibility at night and it looks pretty darn cool. When you're ready to hook it up, just simply take your arms here, slide it into your base plate, slide your pins on through. On the opposite side you'll have your little hole here that'll line up with the hole in your pin. We can then drop the locking pin down and that will hold it in place.

At this point you just want to complete the rest of your connections. This tow bar is designed to work with any Roadmaster base plate. We do have different ends available here at etrailer.com if you have a different manufacturer so you can adapt it for those. But now we've got everything hooked up here, we can go ahead and put our Jeep into flat tow mode and we're going to hit the road. And that completes our installation of Roadmasters Nighthawk Tow Bar on our 2020 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited.
