Question:

Hello, I have a Circle W single axle utility trailer with 15 inch wheels. I believe the axle is 3500#. the only marking is a stamped number 358570 What is the best electric trailer brake for this setup?

I searched the part number you provided online and found that you do indeed have a 3500 lb axle. You can confirm this by pulling one of your existing hubs and checking the bearing reference numbers engraved on the side of the carriers for the inner and outer wheel bearing. If the inner bearing reads L68149 and the outer reads L44649, you do indeed have a 3500 lb axle.

To install brakes, you'll first want to ensure that your spindles have brake mounting flanges installed (see photo). The etrailer brand 10 inch self adjusting electric brake assemblies you'd looked at, part # AKEBRK-35-SA are a great choice for a 3500 lb axle. For brake drums, you'll want to use part # AKHD-545-35-EZ-K. The hub drum is fully assembled, greased and is ready for use. The inner and outer bearings, races, grease seal, grease, lug nuts and dust cap for both standard and EZ Lube spindles are included.
