Question:

I have a 2023 Cherokee by forest river model 324TS. Furrion thermostat Control box Have had two service calls and still not working We tried switching the A B wires- didn’t work Connected thermostat directly to control box - worked for two days and is flashing E3 again. The dealership can not come out until January 4th It’s going to be below freezing the next couple of nights What do you recommend our next step to be

An E3 error code means there's a communication error between the zone controller and the thermostat. Since you've already tried connecting the wires from the thermostat directly to the zone controller (great idea btw) and still are having issues, even with the A and B wires flipped, that would mean the issue is with either the thermostat or the zone controller.

Since these aren't items that can be taken apart and fixed you'd need to replace them. I recommend starting with the thermostat # FR33PR since these are the cheaper item to replace and are typically the item to fail when it comes to any AC system. If a new thermostat doesn't fix the issue then the controller will need to be replaced with part # FR43PR.

What if the E3 code on ac furrion thermostat flashes every once in a while. I wait for it to reset then turn back on. Any ideas on why it does that?

@SylviaV An E3 error means that the thermostat and controller aren't communicating so this could mean that you have damaged wiring, the controller has an issue, or the thermostat has an issue. There isn't much you can do besides just replace whichever is causing the issue if you've ensured that it's wired correctly. I would be curious to see if maybe it's just power a issue to the controller. When does it do this? If you're at a campsite and the voltage fluctuates because the campground is pulling too much with everyone's AC units running and you could potentially be dropping below the required voltage to operate the system. I recommend picking up a voltmeter # HU28FR to see if this is the case and then if so could just use a surge protector/booster to maintain safe voltage levels. Let me know what you find and we can keep troubleshooting.

@KevinC The RV place where it's parked at ,each has it's own meter. They do have some issues that power turns off and on a lot of times. One day power shut off and on 12 times!! My RV is brand new bought going to be a year. I've only been in it for maybe 6 months. It has always shut off then blink with E3 error. We are new to RV-ing. I worried that off and on could damage something. Also where can I get a electric awning arm just one reasonably priced? I know it's an expensive toy to live in. Thank you for the help.

@Sylviav If the power keeps being interrupted that would definitely be the cause of the E3. If either the controller or the thermostat loses power they two can't communicate and will error out. It's definitely not good for any electronics in your RV to have the power continuously drop. For the awning arm I'll need to know what brand you have and the model. I'll also need to know how tall the arm is when closed. If you want to send me some pictures I can try to identify what you have.
