Question:

I am purchasing a 2022 Chevy 3500 Dually and need a 24K hitch. Truck will have the under bed puck system . Do you recommend the Curt or the BandW Companion? I also need a tonneau cover and was looking at the Pace Edwards. I want one that can be fixed partially open for towing the trailer to keep front of bed out of the weather. Only issue is that I will have an auxiliary 40 gallon fuel tank unable to measure the height right now, probably about 10 or 12 and wonder if that will interfere with the tonneau cover. If so, what else could you recommend?

I suggest the B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch for Chevy/GMC Towing Prep Package, # BWRVK3715. I like the 1" thick jaws on the Companion. The cam-action latching handle helps prevent binding, is simple to release, even on unlevel terrain. The B&W is noted as having a superior powder coating and is made in USA with materials sourced from the USA too. This hitch has multiple height settings but even on its highest setting it will still set below the top of the bed rails. So something such as the RetraxPRO XR Hard Tonneau Cover, # RTT-80485 will work very well. The locking handle lets you easily open and close the cover, and secure it at any point along the rails but then you can close and lock the cover for maximum security when used in conjunction with your locked tailgate.
