Question:

Hi, I have a fairly odd request. I just got a 2022 Toyota Sienna as our family is growing and we needed the space. However, we like to travel around and almost always drive to where we are going. Which means we have a good amount of stuff that comes along with us. It was getting a bit cramped when we went out this last weekend, so we are looking at the Thule Force XT XXL roof box and a roof rack system. Is this a good idea? I know I will lose some mpgs with it, so I wanted to get a roof rack that I can take off quickly and easily. If I shouldn't do this, is there a better option?

This is not an odd request at all. Vans, like your 2022 Toyota Sienna, are nice to travel in as they are comfortable and have a lot of room to move around. Once you start filling it up with things, and or beings, it can definitely take the fun out of it. So using something like the Thule Force XT XXL # TH6359B roof box that you are looking at will hands down be a great addition. Especially since this one has 22 cu ft of storage space.

To get this secured to your Sienna, it is actually a very quick and easy process as well. All the Sienna's for 2022 came with raised rails that run the length of the roof, so the Thule Evo Raised Rail Feet # TH710401 will simply clamp onto those raised rails and hold securely in place. The Thule WingBar Evo Crossbars # TH711420 will then attach to these and boom, you're done. Easy peasy. These are also 53" long so if you do decide to put anything else up there, you have a good amount of room.

Just as a side note, with how easy this roof rack is to install and remove, you technically could leave the roof box attached to the rack when you go to take everything off. Just make sure it's empty and you have someone helping.
