Question:
Good Morning. I have a 2020 f150 4x4 with the max towinch package on it. im pulling a 36foot travel trailer that weighs around 12k pounds. pulling power is no issue the problem im finding is when im getting passed by other vehicles my camper is like a kite and it wants to blow me off the road. i purchased a set of Sumo springs from etrailer but i havent noticed that they have helped at all. i was wondering before i purchased air bags would this help maintain lane control? i dont really have a problem with my truck sagging as much as i do lane control.

What you are experiencing is called sway and an air bag system added to your 2020 Ford F-150 will not address it. To address the sway problem you are having you will need to add a weight distribution system to your towing set up. I have linked a faq article about weight distribution systems and why they are perfect for your situation. For your 36 foot travel trailer I recommend the Blue Ox SwayPro Weight Distribution w/ Sway Control item # BXW2003. This system will clamp onto your trailer without drilling into the coupler. These clamps hold the trunnion bars in place that so that constant tension in trunnions helps force the trailer in line. This will combat the sway issues you are encountering when you're being passed on the highway. This system includes a 2 1/2" shank if your F-150 has a 2" receiver you will need the Blue Ox SwayPro Weight Distribution Shank for 2" Hitches - 9" Long - 7 Hole Adjustment item # BXW4000.
