Solution for Pulling Hub/Drums Off of Trailer Spindle that Seem Stuck

Question:
Hi! I’m looking to replace the brakes on my Airstream with these and getting a feel for if I can manage the job. I’ve pulled the snap rings and the nut on the hub and the drum pulls off about 1/4” and then gets stuck. It seems like the pads have worn in enough to catch the drum and not let it pop off. Can these brakes be adjusted like normal drum brakes to retract them and pull off the drum or am I missing something? Thanks for the help!

You need to manually adjust your brake assemblies to bring the pads in so that you can pull the drum off.
To see how to manually adjust trailer brake assemblies check out the video I attached, fast-forward to the 4:35 mark of the video. For an adjuster you could use the brake adjustment spoon part # W80630.
I also attached an install video for this brake assembly set for you to check out as well.
