Wiring a trailer doesn’t have to mean cutting into your vehicle’s wiring. The Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector plugs directly into factory tail light connectors, giving you a clean install without splicing. Each side clicks in behind the tail lights, and that’s it—no guesswork, no wire tracing.
The harness includes a powered converter that draws power directly from the battery through a single black hot lead. This design shields your vehicle’s wiring from overloads or shorts that can occur on the trailer side. In the event of a short, the converter box takes the hit instead of your vehicle’s electrical system, keeping the factory circuits safe.
Once the T-connectors are plugged in, you only need to run one wire up to the battery. That wire connects to an inline fuse holder and the positive terminal for steady 12V power. Hitch fit perfectly and took about a half hour to install in my driveway. Only basic tools and a torque wrench, no jacks required. Electrical took a little bit longer but the routing path in the Tacoma was ideal. The video was very helpful with the electrical. Being a cautious sort I used a 1/4” poly overwrap to further protect the provided heavy duty 12 gauge power wire. Measured idle current was around 1mA. Total job saved me hundreds over Toyota factory.

Threading two of the bolts down the frame was a PIA. While not difficult, it required significant fussing around with the wire, and moving the head of the bolt up.
The hitch works perfectly, and is very solid.
I haven't done the wiring yet, as this is for a boat I use only in summertime!

2016 Toyota Tacoma SR, Did the job in about 35 min pretty straight forward.
I installed this on my 2018 Tacoma. It was simple and straightforward. Took about one hour. It's all plug-and-play with the exception of the power wire that has to go to the battery, but that was super-easy if you have any electrical experience.

Does its job, very simple, longest part is running wires and securing with zip ties. Works great! If you watch the video on Etrailer from the older model you get a good idea of how it all goes together it’s only slightly different.

This product is totally worth the money!!!! Everything worked the first time .. the install was very easy, only thing that was a little difficult was running the positive cable from the battery to the rear bumber.. just take your time and follow the chassis, that was a big help.. I bought this product to install rear led brake light strip and wanted to hide the cables to give it a oem look.. would definitely recommend this product!

Great product, 0 problems!
The unit is installed. All components fit correctly. Instead of the four pin connector, I spliced the output lines into a Pollack 119988 connector. The colors of the two systems are different, but it is not a difficult change as the Pollack cinbector is labeled. The project finished up nicely with a factory outlet installed in the rear bumper.
The green conductor the runs between the left and right tail luminaires was only just as long as it needed to be. I would have liked a couple of inches more to allow it to be dressed tightly to the existing wiring harness in that section.
I found a spare spade connector in the fuse box of the engine room to attach the fuse holder inside the weather resistant fuse box rather than attach it to a stud on the battery post connector.
I used heat shrink style crimp connectors rather than the crimps supplied in the kit.
Easy install. The four pin connector was average quality at best. Just tie it up to the hitch with a tie wrap is pretty cheap and amateurish.
Fairly simple for a 76yr old man to install. Very pleased with product.

Very well No problems
The green wire that travels alone to the passenger side turn signal was too short. I had to splice an additional length of wire approximately 6 inches long To get it to reach. I looked over the path that I ran it , and there was no way it was going to reach. Other than that the product was excellent!
