Can the post be changed to convert from square GMC Chevy to round for use on Dodge.

The Companion Hitch part # BWRVK3500-5W that you referenced can only fit the B and W Turnoverball gooseneck hitches which all have a square shank. There isn't a version of the Turnoverball that has a round shank and there isn't a round shank adapter for this hitch either. One solution you'd have would be to install the Convert a Ball # CAB-C5G on your trailer's fifth wheel pin box which will allow your trailer to connect directly to a gooseneck ball.
Or if you got me the brand of your gooseneck hitch I can see if there is a similar solution to the Companion available.
