Question:

Will a Weight Distribution hitch on a boat trailer cause problems when launching a boat? The WD hitch would have backup capability.

You may run into some traction issues especially if you are using a rear wheel drive only vehicle. A weight distribution hitch like the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System # EQ37060ET is designed to transfer weight that would normally be on the rear end of your tow vehicle and transfer it to the front axle as well. The reduction of weight on the rear drive wheels may result in loss of traction on a wet boat ramp.

You will need a Pole-Tongue Adapter for Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Systems # EQ95-01-5950 to be able to use the Equal-i-zer hitch if your boat trailer has the straight pole tongue.
