Question:

My 2022 Volkswagen Tiguan does not have the factory bolts or weld nuts in the frame. Can I still install a receiver hitch on my vehicle?

The etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e43ZR comes with carriage bolts, fishwire, square hole spacers and flange nuts that are needed to install a receiver on your 2022 Volkswagen Tiguan that does not have the factory weld nuts and bolts. You will be able to fish the carriage bolts and spacers into the frame so that you can attach the receiver.

The matte black powder coating on our receiver gives a cleaner look as you don't have a shinny receiver on the back of your Tiguan. This will better match with the trim of the Tiguan.

I do recommend installing the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118811 when you install the receiver. This will give you a 4-way flat connector that will be needed when towing small trailers or carrying a hitch mounted accessory that blocks the view of your tail lights. You will be able to use Auxiliary Lights # C53201 attached to your bike rack or cargo carrier that will help the drivers behind you see your tail lights.
