Is It Normal for Left and Right Trailer Brake Assemblies to be Different Brands

Question:
Hello, I purchased a single axle trailer w/ electric brakes and upon initial inspection I noticed 1 wheel has the AKEBRK-35L-SA AxleTek self adjusting assembly and the other wheel has a TruRyde manual brake adjuster assembly. Is there any reason a trailer manufacturer would use 2 different types of brake adjuster assemblies on the same axle? This does not seem safe nor smart to me as the brakes are adjusting at different rates. Would it be better to pull one assembly or the other and replace with a matching unit or is it ok to pull the trailer like that? Thank you!

Expert Reply:
That's not an ideal situation but I can understand someone wanting to just replace a single assembly instead of replacing both if they couldn't get a match. So your best option would be to replace the right hand side with the part # AKEBRK-35R-SA so that everything matches.
