Question:
Im interested in the Yakima GearWarrior basket mount. I currently have the Yakima SwingBase with the Topshelf and two Gearlockers. I have Yakima Crossbars Corebar installed on top of my truck camper. Id like to mount the GearWarrior Basket to the top of my truck camper when Ive got both GearLockers installed to have extra rooftop storage with the option to use the GearWarrior on the SwingBase. Id like to know if I could mount the GearWarrior basket to the Crossbars and if so what kind of mounting hardware would I need?

Expert Reply:
For mounting a basket on your crossbars you will need to use the Yakima SkinnyWarrior # Y07014 as the Yakima GearWarrior Cargo Carrier # Y37VR can only be mounted to the Yakima EXO SwingBase # Y34VR or TopShelf # Y94VR.
The Yakima SkinnyWarrior # Y07014 is 58" Long by 23" Wide and can support up to 165lbs. It will mount to your Yakima Corebar without needing any additional adapters as it comes with mounts that are adjustable.

Hi Bud. Following up on your answer to this question, I need you to consider another scenario and advise. F150 regular (single) cab … I wanted to use Yakima BaseLine towers and 60” JetStream crossbars spaced around 15” apart on the cab and I wanted to mount either a Yakima EXO GearWarrior or a Yakima Skinny basket on the crossbars. With the single cab the baskets would need to be mounted long side from door to door not the usual front to back orientation. Is this possible with Yakima mounting hardware? If so can it also be locked down with SKS cores and keys? If the above isn’t possible, what alternative products would you recommend to achieve the same end so I can mount a basket on the cab? Thanks.
