Question:

Hi, for this system, if there is a breakaway, how does the air from the RV get capped so I wouldnt lose system pressure? One of the instructions says to T into a brake line, so would that wheel lose pressure only? Does this system have an inline device to cap the line? Thanks

If there is a break-away, how does the air from the RV get capped so I wouldn't lose system pressure?

If a breakaway were to happen, the air could blow out the back of the RV. If the air patch cord breaks away at the coupler on the RV then NO. If the patch cord were to break in the middle of the cord itself then yes the air is going to continuously blow out the RV end till it's unhooked. If the RV is a total air system then the RV safety system is going to alarm from the loss of pressure and the brakes will slowly engage. If it's a hydraulic system then the air is going to be coming from the compressor that is used for those systems and installed on the RV somewhere. In that case the air would continue till the line is unhooked as well, but the brakes in the RV would not be affected at all because the compressor is what is feeding that line going to the car.

The tee doesn't have an effect on the system no matter where it is installed.

The mac valve on the reserve tank is a one way valve so that is what prevents the air from traveling back out of the vehicle during that breakaway situation
