How To Remove Control Dial From Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller

Question:

We accidently put the knob on before turning controller, so now its not correct with zero on top. How do you get it back off to place in correct location? We tried just pulling, but dont want to break anything.

The control knob on the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller part # RED24FR is held in place with friction. The initial install of the control knob will need to be done with the dial set to 0 but if you mess up you can simply pull the knob off and retry. Removing the head a few times won't be an issue but if you do this persistently it could lead to a loss of friction and loose fit.
