what is the weight of the actual unit? I assume I need to factor this in when calculating my payload?

The Weigh Safe True Tow Weight Distribution Hitch item # WS94RR weighs 113 lbs. Surprisingly enough you do not have to account for the weight of a weight distribution system when you calculate your tongue weight.

Thank you for your reply. That is quite surprising information about the tongue weight! That is great to know. I do not yet own a camper, but will very soon. I have been pulling cargo trailers for 30 years but never had a need for a WDH. Again, thanks for the very helpful information!
