Question:

I am not seeing on your website or in the QandA how to install the TH301649 to the roof of my promaster van. Do I need silicone or sikaflex? What do you recommend? It is on its way, and I would like to have silicone if needed. Thanks

The difference between the Thule HideAway Awning - Roof Rack Mount # TH490010 and Thule HideAway Roll Out Awning for ProMaster # TH620001, is that the # TH490010 is designed to mount to a Thule TracRac ladder rack or aftermarket roof rack. While the # TH620001 is designed to mount to the roof of a ProMaster or Sprinter cargo van.

Given that you have a ProMaster cargo van you will want to use the # TH620001. You will also need the Dodge ProMaster Van Adapter for Thule HideAway Awning TH620001 # TH301649 which will allow you to attach to preset mounting points in the roof line for a no drill installation.

The Vehicle Mounting Bracket Kit for Thule HideAway Awnings # TH1500602390 are the correct bottom mounting brackets. This comes with the correct mounting hardware and requires permanent installation (bottom brackets require drilling).

You will want to use a silicone such as the Rock River Silicone Sealant # FAS24FR for the lower brackets that the legs attach too. You don't have to use the silicone on the top brackets but it is listed as by preference in the installation instructions for the # TH490010 to create a waterproof seal.
